Every generation must re-learn that natural law rules everything in our existence. We learn about the nature of events in life, each in our own way. For me, the most singular way to learn is through storytelling: actions have consequences, and we don't see this in the social, political, or cultural environment we currently exist in. The best days seem more limited in number and more distant with time. My work is a healthy reminder of who we are as individuals and what we can appropriate from the past to apply in the present moment. My work is very narrative and nostalgic, with a very confined, personal focus and ranges from a rational, naturalistic perspective to an expressively grand metaphysical one.
I work in a variety of media: drawing, painting, sculptural, installation, sound design, and video. Currently, I have a nontraditional western film project and an avante-gard psychological-thriller in post production.
I have received awards from State Fair Community College and University of Central Missouri, as well as showed work at local fairs, such as the Top 50 at the Missouri State Fair 2012, 2013, and 2014, selected Sedalia Visual Artists Exhibitions, such as Id You Is? The Art of Self Representation at the Daum Museum in 2013, and the Kansas City Undergrad Exhibition 2012.
